Industry Visit to the Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI)

The Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods at Dr. Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM), UMT, organized an industry visit to the Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI), Planning & Development Board, Government of the Punjab. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to the role of public policy research and evidence-based decision-making in addressing socio-economic challenges and supporting sustainable development.
The session was led by Dr. Aamer Shaheen Ranjha, Director of PERI, while Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Sardar, Research Economist, delivered an insightful presentation highlighting the institute's contributions to evidence-based policy research, socio-economic development, and planning support for the Government of Punjab. Students gained a deeper understanding of how research informs public policy and contributes to effective governance.
