Steering Success-Corporate Panel Discussion Explores Strategic Leadership and AI-Augmented Surveillance

The Dr Hasan Murad School of Management (HSM) at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) hosted an engaging corporate panel discussion titled “Steering Success” on January 08, 2026, at Saleem Asghar Hall. Organized by the Department of Management in collaboration with CETA, the event brought together prominent industry leaders and academic experts to discuss contemporary leadership challenges and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on corporate governance.
The panel discussions were organized in two sessions. The first session focused on Strategic Leadership Challenges, addressing how leaders can navigate complex organizational environments, drive innovation, and lead with purpose in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape. Distinguished panelists included Dr. Shafeeq Haider, CEO of Indus Hospital & Health Network; Mr. Ovais Siddiqui, CEO of Orbit Advertising & Event Management; Dr. Faiza Ali, Associate Dean (Research) at LUMS; and Mr. Aly Raza Syed, Chairperson of the Department of Management at HSM–UMT. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, Provost of UMT, who guided an insightful discussion on leadership strategies and decision-making in dynamic environments.

The second session explored the theme “AI-Augmented Surveillance,” examining how artificial intelligence is reshaping corporate oversight, governance frameworks, and ethical leadership practices. The panel featured Mr. Omar Abdurrahman Mian, President of Nextbridge Ltd.; Mr. Fouad Bajwa, CEO of Digital DERA Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Imran Rashid, CEO of ITeL Services Pvt. Ltd.; and Dr. Kamran Hameed, Director of CETA at UMT. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Naveed Yazdani, Dean of HSM, who facilitated a thoughtful dialogue on balancing technological advancement with ethical responsibility in modern organizations.

Throughout the discussions, speakers shared valuable insights from their professional experiences, highlighting the importance of strategic thinking, responsible leadership, and technology-aware governance in today’s corporate world. Participants gained a deeper understanding of how emerging technologies such as AI are influencing decision-making processes and shaping the future of organizational leadership.
